How do I cancel my Premium subscription?

Open iPhone Settings → Tap your name at the top → Subscriptions → Select "Photo Cleaner" → Tap "Cancel Subscription".

You will retain Premium access until the end of your current billing period.

Why is my daily quota (50 deletions) not resetting?

Daily quota resets at midnight (00:00) in your device's local time zone. Check app Settings → Quota to see the exact next reset time.

If quota doesn't reset after 24 hours, try force-closing and reopening the app.

Can I recover deleted photos?

Within the same app session: Tap "Undo" button immediately after deletion.

After exiting app: Deleted photos are moved to iOS "Recently Deleted" album (Photos app → Albums → Recently Deleted) where they remain for 30 days.

After 30 days: Photos are permanently deleted. We recommend backing up important photos before cleaning.

Does Photo Cleaner upload my photos to the cloud?

No. All photo processing happens locally on your device. We never upload photos to our servers or third-party cloud services. Your photos remain private and secure on your iPhone/iPad.

How do I restore my Premium purchase on a new device?

Open Photo Cleaner → Settings → Subscription → Tap "Restore Purchases" button.

Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.

What payment methods are accepted?

All payments are processed through Apple's App Store. Accepted methods include:

  • Credit/debit cards
  • Apple Pay
  • Apple Account balance
  • Carrier billing (if supported by your carrier)
How does duplicate photo detection work?

We create a unique "fingerprint" for each photo and compare them to find duplicates.

The system can detect duplicates even with minor edits like cropping or filters.

Why are some clear photos marked as blurred?

Blur detection analyzes image sharpness. Occasionally, artistic blur or low-contrast photos may be flagged.

Always review preview before deleting.

What size photos are considered "large files"?

The app uses optimized thresholds to detect large photos and videos that take up significant storage space.

You can customize these thresholds in Settings → Scan Settings.

Why does the app need photo library access?

Photo Cleaner requires "All Photos" access to scan and detect duplicates. We only analyze photo information (file size, date, resolution) locally on your device.

No photos are uploaded or stored permanently.

🔧 Troubleshooting

⚠️ App crashes during photo scan

Solutions:

  • Restart the app (force close and reopen)
  • Ensure iOS is updated to latest version (Settings → General → Software Update)
  • Check available storage (need at least 1GB free for large libraries)
  • Reduce scan batch size in Settings → Scan Settings → Photos per batch
  • If issue persists, contact support with device model and iOS version
⚠️ Photos not appearing in scan results

Solutions:

  • Grant full photo library access: Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → Photo Cleaner → Select "All Photos"
  • Check if photos are in iCloud and not downloaded: Settings → Photos → Download and Keep Originals
  • Restart app to refresh photo library access
⚠️ Purchase not unlocking Premium features

Solutions:

  • Tap "Restore Purchases" in Settings → Subscription
  • Verify Apple ID: Settings → [Your Name] (check correct Apple ID signed in)
  • Check App Store purchase history: App Store app → Account icon → Purchase History
  • If Premium still not unlocked, contact support with purchase receipt
⚠️ Scan takes too long or freezes

Solutions:

  • Large photo libraries may take several minutes for first scan
  • Keep app in foreground during scan (iOS suspends background processing)
  • Close other apps to free memory
  • Reduce scan batch size in Settings
⚠️ Daily quota not increasing after subscribing

Solutions:

  • Tap "Restore Purchases" to sync subscription status
  • Force close app and reopen
  • Verify subscription active in App Store Subscriptions
  • If issue persists, contact support
